There are many reasons why Nigerian music is so popular, but one of the main reasons is the unique sound that Nigerian musicians create.
Nigerian music is a fusion of traditional African music and pop and R&B music, and this unique sound has won over fans all over the world.
Then, there are artistes who made this possible. I know of few but would rather allow you do the listing.
