China has carried out anti-missile tests in South Korea amid opposition to the US regime.
Beijing says the experiment was not aimed at any country, although it has objected to the US THAAD system in South Korea.
In Beijing, the Defense Ministry called it defensive, saying China had tested “ground-based mid-course anti-missile intercept technology” which “achieved its intended goal.”
Beijing has already tested missile interceptors. The most recent public announcement of the test was made in February 2021, and before that in 2018. State media say China has been testing anti-missile systems since at least 2010.
As part of modernization under the supervision of Chinese President Xi Jinping, China is expanding research into everything from space-destroying missiles to advanced nuclear-powered ballistic missiles.
